Christmas Joy Card

Hey there crafty friends, it’s a cold morning here, a whole 25°.. Brr, right? Plus we have a birthday party to go to at the park, big hopes to it warming up a bit. Anyways last month I joined the Crafty Elves in sharing Christmas greetings. Well, I only shared my project photos and no how to’s. I wanted to split each Christmas project into their own how to post and had planed on sharing those posts the week after my initial post. Needless to say, I failed at my plan and am way late, my greatest apologies for those of you who came back looking. You’re wondering what happened and why I am so behind? All I can say is life happens. On a positive note, at least the Crafty Elves have got me crafting again, my blogging (which I actually love doing) will come along in time.

All right that’s enough chitchat for now. Time for some card making details. This card was made using the lovely girl stamp from Unity Stamp Co. Kit of the Month from September 2015 called Our Hearts To Yours. I stamped her on Canson XL watermark paper and used my Tim Holtz distress inks to watercolor her. I’m not sure if you can see in the photo but I added glossy accents to the ornament she is holding.

After everything was dry I added some pattern paper to my card base and attach my painted image to the center using my ATG tape gun. I then trimmed both sides of my painted panel with some thin red ribbon, finishing up the card front with an accent of a tiny bow. I love tiny bows by the way.

Crafters Tip: when adding strips of ribbon to your projects, glue can get messy and seep through the ribbon. Instead of glue, run your ribbon strips through a sticker maker. You can run several through at a time to get the most out of your sticker paper, just make sure to guide your ribbon strips so they don’t over lap. My sticker maker of choice is the little Xyron sticker maker, one of my first crafty tools.
