PAND-TASTIC Day Card

Hey y’all, I’m back with more card inspiration. When I saw this Art Impressions stamp set, I just had to have it. The name of the set says it all ” PAND-TASTIC”, it really is a fantastic stamp set.

I chose to use the cute little panda in the mug, well because I am addicted to anything that has to do with tea or coffee. I first cut my cardstock with a Honey Bee stitched scallop die and then used my MISTI to stamp the image in Momento ink. I normally watercolor my images but I decided to color this one using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I had fun with this one, and created my own pattern paper. I used an old Peachy Keen chevron background stamp to create both the black and white patterned paper and the yellow paper that I used. The yellow one really surprised me. I used Tim Holtz Mustard Seed Distress Oxide ink to get both shades of yellow. Keeping the cardstock secured in my MISTI I stamped the Chevron stamp several times to get a good clean crisp image. Doing this actually darkened the ink. I then used a blending tool to brush a single coat of the Mustard Seed over it making the entire sheet yellow. I enjoyed doing this so much that I went online shortly afterwards and ordered a whole bunch of background stamps from Papertrey Ink. One of the things I despise the most about crafting is searching through my drawer for matching pattern papers after I’ve painted or colored my image. Now I will be able to make all kinds a pattern paper with my Distress Oxide inks and all my new background stamps.

No card is complete until you do the side. Sometimes I keep it simple and just matte the inside with white cardstock stamped with a sentiment. I love how this pattern paper came out so much that I decided to use it on the inside as well.

I think this card came together very nicely and I am very happy with it.
