Watercolor Scenery In A Jar

Hey there, I’m back with another scenery building card except for this time I built it in a jar.

All the stamps used to create this wonderful scene are all Victorine Originals stamps sold by SumMore Fun. I used my handy dandy MISTI stamping tool the stamp all my images on the some 90 lb Canson watercolor paper (some stamp masking was involved). Using the wet to dry technique, I watercolored this with Prima Watercolor Confections and then fussy cut the finished jar using my Tim Holtz mini scissors.

That amazing butterfly at a top of jar is from the Vctorine Original stamp set {Wings Set} The butterfly wings are stamped and painted the same manner as all the other images except each wing was stamped twice. After I fussy cut the wings I glued them together so that when looked at from the side the wings were pretty underneath as well. I gently rolled up the edges of the wings and then glue them to the jar only at the center part of each wing so the butterfly would actually pop off the card.

Other Stamps Used:

The floral pattern paper is from the 6×6 Pebbles Garden Party paper pad. I have a really hard time picking pattern paper because I always paint my images first and then I have to find paper that matches the colors used. I did it differently this time, I pick my paper first and then painted my images to coordinate with my paper.

My card front was embellished with some yellow lace ribbon and some clear pinkish sequence. Finishing it off with a sentiment banner stamped with a Victorine Originals sentiment “Thank You So Much“.

That last thing to do was the inside of my card. I painted a piece of watercolor paper the same color I painted the jar and then stamped it with the sentiment “You are so Sweet and thoughtful”. That lovely sentiment is from the {Stand Tall} July 2018 Unity KOM. I had some scraps left from the pattern paper used on the front that I ran through my Xyron sticker maker and then used them to trim the watercolor panel on the inside.

Thanks for stopping and I hope I have inspired you in some way.

Happy crafting and have a wonderful day!
