Hey there crafty friends, I’m back again with another card made with Unity stamps. I’m so excited that I am Growing In Unity this week.
So the title of this post is “The Best Handmade Card Ever” because just about everything used on this Card was handmade by me.
This adorable girl stamp is Evelyn Girl, she is one of my favorite birthday stamps. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and then used gamsol and blending stumps to smooth the pencil strokes. I also had to add a little sparkle to the balloons because no card is complete until it blings just a bit, right? To add that sparkle I used some clear Wink of Stella.
The embellishments used on the card front were all handmade. That yellow ribbon was dyed and crinkled by myself. Those flowers, aren’t they just beautiful? Using Tim Holtz Tattered Floral dies I cut the petals out of mulberry paper. I dyed the petals then shaped and assembled the flowers. Even the doily was handmade. I used a Tim Holtz die to cut the doily out of plain printer paper and then dyed it to match my flowers.
Even though it took so much more time to create all those embellishments, It was well worth it. First, it so nice to have everything match so nicely. Second, the self-gratification from having made such a “handmade” card is absolutely amazing.
Of course I couldn’t leave the inside blank so I added just a bit of that handmade crinkle ribbon to the inside sentiment panel and glued a couple small handmade flowers to the ribbon.
I almost forgot to mention one thing. I am new to Nuvo Drops and went a little over board on the front with some clear drops. Thank goodness all those drops ended up looking great on my card front.
I really hope you love this card as much as I do and that I have inspired you in some way.
I will be sharing Unity crafty creations all week and will be choosing 2 people at random from the comments to win 25 random Unity stamps. So, make sure to comment below and come back every day for a chance to win.
