Tea Time Card With Hand Stamped Pattern Paper

Hello crafty friends, I have another tea time card to share with you. I’ve done a little hoping along with the Coffee Lovers this week, have you? I will also be linking the card up over on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters blog for theirs Spring/Summer blog hop.

For this card I used the Polka Dot Orchard It’s Your Day digi stamp set. I created this stamp set and I have to say it is one of my favorites. This stamp pairs well with the Spread Your Wings digi stamp set. I actually created a card combining both sets. If you would like to see it click here: Hello Friend Tea Time Card.

Overall this was a pretty easy card to make. I printed the image on some Canson 90lb watercolor paper and then painted it using Prima Watercolor Confections. I trimmed it down very close to the image and then matted a piece of black cardstock behind it.

Now, this part is my favorite part of the card design. The pattern paper, it looks great right? I created it with background stamps and inks. For the pink pattern paper I used Lawn Fawns Gingham Backdrops stamp set which I stamped in Momento Rhubarb Stalk ink and then using a blending tool I applied Tim Holtz Tattered Rose Distress Oxide over the entire stamped image. I really like how the Tattered Rose Distress Oxide looked over top the … Memento ink. The yellow dotted paper was created by covering some cardstock with Tim Holtz Mustard Seed Distress Oxide and then taking a stamp (the small dots) from Papertrey Ink Splats background stamp and stamping a few times in Mustard Seed Oxide ink. The multiple stamps of oxide made it a darker shade. I love this effect and can’t wait to try it with more stamps.

So, the sentiment… I actually was going to using one from the digi stamp set but messed it up and didn’t feel like printing it again. I grabbed a set that was in arms reach and it had the perfect sentiment to go with the card “Warmest Wishes” I even like the font it is written in. That sentiment is from the Papertrey Ink stamp set {Cup of Cheer}.

I finished it up by adding some mini flat back pearls to it. I am super happy with how this card came out. I love how the colors look together and how amazing my my pattern paper looks.

I am also a super sponsor for the hop and have been doing giveaways everyday throughout the duration of the hop. Links to each giveaway are below, you should check them out. You should also swing by the Designer’s Gallery and take a look at all the amazing work my design team has done with Polka Dot Orchard digi stamps.
