Good day my creative friends. I’m still getting crafty while Growing In Unity. I am so happy that I get the chance to join in with all the other wonderfully talented Unity Stamp Lovers this year.
I had so much fun creating this card and it is actually one of my favorites I have ever made.
I used stamps from the 3/18 KOM called {Stay Classy} This kit has so many amazing images, you should check it out.
So, I don’t have a name for the stamping technique I used, if there already is a name for it I would love to know what it’s called. I put the paintbrush jar image in my Tim Holtz stamp tool. I placed my watercolor paper into the corner of the stamper so I could take my paper in and out and still have the stamp line up perfectly. I started with one Tim Holtz Distress Inks color and applied it to part of the stamp and before stamping to the paper I lightly misted the stamp. I repeated this a few time and then dried my paper with a heat gun. Doing this caused the ink to disburse on the paper. I repeated this with each color. If you do this, take care not to let the colors mix into each other, some may create a muddy color. After I was finished with all the colors I stamped it one more time in the same manner, one color at a time, without misting the stamp. I also added some nice colored water puddles on it and tilted the paper letting it run down and then added some random splatters.
Not only was doing the stamping fun but also adding all the details. There is a fun background stamp that came in the kit that I stamped in the top corner and then did a second generation stamp in the bottom corner. I used a faux stitch stamp from my craft stash and some black embossing powder to add even more details. I couldn’t just stop there, I added some color texture paste using a stencil to add even more texture. The black cardstock matte I hand stitched some green twine using a really big needle.
I added some ribbon to the black cardstock and attached it to my card front backed with some fun foam. I then added my stamped panel followed by some banners. I tore some pretty washi tape and added it to my banners.
To finish up my card front I added some mini flat back pearls, a green twine bow and the hand punched word “SMILE”.
Now for the inside I added nice puddles of colored water and hit it with the heat gun while tilting my paper to get the colors to run across the paper. The sentiment is actually an Inkadinkado stamp from a set called {Friendly Advice Kids Quotes} and the sentiment I chose from this set I felt fit perfectly with the card front.
I sure hope you like this card as much as I do and that I have inspired you in some way.
I will be sharing Unity crafty creations all week and will be choosing 2 people at random from the comments to win 25 random Unity stamps. So, make sure to comment below and come back every day for a chance to win.
