Sleepy Lamb Baby Shower Thank You

I hope everyone is starting to have some nicer weather. I know we are here and it’s so nice to finally thaw out a little bit. Today I have a beautiful baby shower thank you card to share with you.

To start I printed this precious Sleepy Lamb digi stamp by Lacy Sunshine two times on some Neenah cardstock. One for the background and the other to fussy cut and color with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I then proceeded to create my background using Tim Holtz distress inks and a blending tool. Using the white shimmery color from the Kuretake watercolor set I splattered the background and painted the stars. I also added some gold spots using a gel pen.

Distress colors used:

  • Squeeze Lemonade
  • Tumbled Glass
  • Broken China
  • Mermaid Lagoon
  • Stormy Sky (The Main Blue Used)

After coloring my second image with Spectrum Noir markers I cut it out the fussy way. I then added some sparkly yellow and purple gel pen to the moon. I wasn’t careful enough and smudged some of the purple gel pen. I decided to leave my mistake as is because the best part of crafting is things are handmade so it’s ok for things to be “perfectly imperfect”. After I attached my cut image directly over the image on my background I felt it was missing something so I tied it together by lining the moon with the same shimmery paint used on the background.

Spectrum Nior colors used:

  • The Moon ~ LY1, LY2, CT4, GB1
  • Sleepy Lamb ~ IG1, IG2, FS6, FS8
  • The Blanket ~ LV1, HB2, HB3 (Purple) IB1, IB2, IB3 (Blue) Note that this purple and blue combo was also used for the bow and throughout the lamb.

Using some super fine white Ranger embossing powder I heat embossed the sentiment “Heartfelt Thanks” from the Kind Thanks stamp set, by Jaded Blossom. The piece of paper I stamped my sentiment on was made to match my card using the distress inks Stormy Sky and Squeezed Lemonade and then lightly brushing the shimmery Kuretake white paint over it.

I finished up this lovely card by adding some pink and gold sequins to the top of my distressed card base. Then matting the finished image on some pink cardstock and attaching it along with the sentiment to the card. Even with my purple smudgy mistake, I love how absolutely precious this card turned out to be.

Have you ever made a mistake that you said, “oh well”, and just rolled with it? If so, what was it? Let me know in the comments below?

Thanks for stopping in an happy crafting.
